Volunteering at Greenwich Peninsula Ecology
Park

The Park has a number of volunteering opportunities:
- Practical conservation
Join a small team of volunteers working with the wardens every
Wednesday throughout the year, apart from July and August,
from 10am until 4pm. No experience necessary and all tools and
training provided. Work includes meadow cutting, marsh clearance,
coppicing (cutting small tree stems) and weeding shingle areas.
Occasional weekend workdays are also organised - look in the Events
section of the website for the latest news.
- Events
Help out at regular events at the park, such as Frog Day in March,
a Grand Open Day in July and Tree Dressing Day in December. Usually
one day events on a Sunday but occasional weekday events in school
holidays. Work includes setting up, helping with arts activities,
running stalls, refreshments and clearing up.
- Friends of the Ecology Park
Join the Friends group which meets about once every two months
and supports the educational and research work of the park. It
does this by making suggestions, fundraising and running stalls
at events.
Contact the Senior Warden, Joanne Smith, for more details and an
